Dear Steve, Sharon, Sheryl, Ralph,
Growing up on Kime avenue was the greatest childhood anyone could have wished for. There were many kids of the same age group and we became fast and lifelong friends. One of the surprise bonuses of growing up with many young families was having so many surrogate parents who genuinely cared and had a hand in raising and teaching you. Your parents were just such parents. Evelyn was always ready to make a sandwich or fry up a slice of leftover pizza in olive oil (which I still do today!) until the bottom was golden brown and crispy. Al was always the patient teacher/instructor, whether it be his skills as a building tradesmen or his love of angling, he never gave up on you. One summer day Al cast off from the West Islip Marina with a bow full of neighborhood kids, me included, and set out to do some fishing. After bobbing in the boat for 45 minutes, our poles steadfast at 12:00, Al decided to have some fun waterskiing. I was a rather "husky" kid (that's what they called it in those days) and my heart sunk when Al said "Okay Charlie...your turn" After each failed attempt, Al encouraged me with a "try this" or a "try that" but never got impatient with me. I gave up, but he didn't.
In closing I would like to say what loving parents you had, not only to one another but to all their beautiful children. I am so sorry for your loss.
Love,
Your friend Charlie Foote

Dear Children of Phil/Al.
We have been friends and neighbors on Kime Ave. as long as I can remember. First in the house near the lake and then closer to my house.
Your father was a kind man, Often, when he saw me shoveling snow, he would remove the bulk of it out of my driveway, never even waiting for a Thank You from me. Just moving on with his plow to probably do another kind deed.
He is now reunited with his beloved Evelyn whom I considered a friend also.
Accept my heartfelt sympathy.
Your neighbor and friend,
Aloisia Foote

Dear Sheryl, Ralph, Sharon and Steven and of course, Ruby and Barbara - Your Dad was someone I always will cherish having known. I loved having conversations with him. He was always so interesting to talk with. My memories of the parties both your mom and dad had at Sag Harbor for Labor Day will always be great memories for me as well as Matthew and Lauren. Most memorable, when Matt took Lauren in the Kayak and Dad had to get the boat and go get them because as usual Matt took his distance to the extreme. LOL
He will always remain dear to my heart and now you all have two Guardian Angels looking over you.
RIP Mr. Randazzo

Love Always
Joann

Big Al, a great man. Had the pleasure of meeting him at Ralph's 40th Bday for the first time. Was then lucky enough to spend time with him at Easter dinners and poolside chats at Ralph and Fred's Fire Island home. The ultimate honor may have been seeing him approve of, attend and celebrate Ralph and Fred's marriage just a few years ago in New York City. Enjoying that event with he and Barbara was the perhaps one of the best parts of that day.
Al made me often think of my Dad and I related him to the type of Dad I had which I lost all too soon when he was only 54. I saw so much in Al in his love and acceptance of others that I know my Dad would have emulated as well had he lived the long and happy life Al did. Al made his family number one and that shining priority of his was one of the many blessings we experienced in knowing Al. Rest in peace kind sir!
