Obituary

Eleanor Posthauer The oldest child to Martha and James Pavone, Eleanor grew up on Staten Island, moving to Albany, NY upon her marriage to Richard and later to Long Island. During their 65 years together, Eleanor and Richard raised daughters Debbie (Larry), Jeanne (Randy), Patty (Karen), Andrea (Tom), and Carol (Mike). She often bragged to anyone she just met that she had 5 daughters. In between dropping off/picking up children to and from band, softball, and soccer practices, Eleanor worked at Belmont Drugs for 33 years, forming life-long friendships with everyone there. Always the artist, she painted watercolors, ceramics, decoy ducks, and decorated amazing birthday cakes. Eleanor was an excellent cook and an awesome baker, making sure there were some goodies in the house at all times. She and Richard enjoyed trips to Europe, multiple national parks in the US, and going on adventures with grandchildren to Disney World. Eleanor’s green thumb made their garden a sight to behold. She had flowers bursting with color among the green shrubs and in pots and planters everywhere. Eleanor’s pride and joy were her grandchildren Tommy (Shannon), Nick (Chris), Vicki, Michelle, Bella, Anthony, Cameron, Ralph, and TJ. Always making her smile, they were her secret to looking so young. Besides her loving family around her the last few months of her life, she was so excited to hold her great grandson Ezra. She is survived by her brother Vincent (Marie) and their daughter Linda, her sister-in-law Sue, numerous cousins and their children. The world is a better place because of El.
