BURKE, Robert F. At age 87, of West Islip, formerly of New York City, died peacefully at home on Sunday, January 29, 2023. Loving husband of Patricia (Zito) Burke, with whom he shared 22 years of marriage. He was predeceased by his beloved daughter, Caryn Burke. Devoted father of Veronica Burke and her husband, John Cutajar, of New York City, Cathrine Burke and her partner, Kelcey Wells, of New York City, and Robert Burke and his wife, Bridget, of Minneapolis, granddaughters Lorelei and Adeline of New York City, and many beloved nieces and nephews. Former Assistant Chief in the New York City Police Department. Graduate of Cardinal Hayes High School and The City College of New York. US Army veteran. Visiting hours 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Wednesday, February 1, 2023 and Thursday, February 2, 2023, at The Fredrick J. Chapey and Sons Funeral Home, 200 E. Main St., East Islip, NY 11730. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. on Friday, February 3, 2023 at St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, 39 N. Carll Ave., Babylon, NY 11702.
