Marybeth Tregarthen June 23, 1965 – October 31, 2024 Marybeth Tregarthen, a beloved community member and devoted sister, aunt, and friend, passed away on October 31, 2024, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was 59 years old. Marybeth grew up in Bay Shore, New York, and later made her home in Brightwaters. She was a fixture in the Bay Shore community, staying active and involved throughout her life. She was predeceased by her beloved parents, Peggy and Harry Tregarthen. Marybeth is survived by her cherished brother, William Tregarthen, his wife Erin, and their son Jack, who all adored her deeply. Known for her generous spirit, humor, and boundless love for family, friends, and the beach, Marybeth will be dearly missed by those who had the honor of knowing her. Marybeth dedicated over 30 years to her role as a production manager working at Disney, a company she held close to her heart. She was a devoted fan of all things Disney, and she poured passion and dedication into her work, building a long-lasting career that brought joy to many. Summers found her at the beaches she adored—especially Fire Island’s Kismet, where she spent decades of weekends in a shared beach house among friends. Her latest summer haven, fondly known as the Pool House, was the site of countless memories, laughter, and cherished moments with her close circle. She also loved her place in Palm Beach Shores, Florida, where she spent time with friends, creating a lifetime of stories, tales, and shenanigans. Marybeth’s humor, warmth, and love for storytelling brought light into the lives of so many. Her legacy is a testament to the power of friendship, kindness, and an enduring sense of fun. Diagnosed with cancer in April 2024, she faced her illness with bravery and resilience, surrounded by the friends and family she loved.
