Obituary of Naomi J. Freije

FREIJE, Naomi Jones of Brightwaters on March 6th, 2017. Born in Daytona Beach Florida on June 14th 1917. Just shy of 100 years, Naomi was witty, wise and independent to the end. Beloved wife of the late Frederick Michael for 58 years. Loving mother of Frederick and his wife Celia; and Nancy and her husband Ken McCauley. Cherished grandmother of Thomas and Kira Freije; Mani Morice; Amy Lebrecque; John and David Mangold. Delighted great grandmother of Joseph Lebrecque; Ava, Jack and Aiden Mangold; Dominic and Vincent Mangold. Naomi graduated from Coughlin High School in Wilkes Barre Pennsylvannia in 1935 and as a Registered Nurse from Wilkes Barre General Hospital in 1938. She moved to Bay Shore to become a nurse at Southside Hospital in 1940. Active for many years in the United Methodist Church in Bay Shore, she also taught in the Sunday School.
