Obituary

LAZIO- Olive “Olivia,” of West Islip, NY on June 22, 2024, her 100th birthday. Beloved wife of the late Anthony. Devoted mother of the late Yashoda "Judy" Yehudit, Roseann Lombardi, Gale P. DeSalvio, and former United States Representative Rick A. Lazio. Cherished grandmother of seven and dear great grandmother of nine. Olive was a proud World War II Veteran, amongst the earliest women to serve in the US Armed Forces, stationed as a Nurse of the US Navy. She joined the groundbreaking Navy WAVES as a 19-year-old and served from 1944 until her honorable discharge in 1945. She devoted over 14,000 hours of service as an officer of the Great South Bay Guild of the Good Samaritan Hospital Volunteers. She enjoyed spending time at the beach on Fire Island and at her vacation home in Jupiter, FL. Olive loved Broadway, the casino, and most of all, her family. Reposing at The Fredrick J.
