Carmen Cordero, a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on May 1st, 2024, at the age of 90. She was surrounded by her loving family. Carmen was born on December 23, 1933, in the Dominican Republic. Known for her kindness, wit, and compassionate nature, she touched the lives of all who knew her with her gentle spirit and sense of humor. Carmen dedicated her life to her family and was devoted to them for many years. She was a loving mother to her children: Rosemary, with her husband Francois Boucher; Tony Nunez, with his partner Josephine Jimenez; Maribel, with her husband Joel Bates; Julissa Petty, widow of John Petty; Ricardo, with his wife Kimberly Nunez; and Carlos, with his wife Melissa Nunez. Carmen was a proud grandmother to 10 grandchildren: Jean-Pierre and his wife Nicole, Amanda and her husband Nick, Gabrielle, Julian, Justin, Noah, Sophie, Emily and her wife Samantha, Hailey, and Mariana; and 7 great-grandchildren: Chase, Westin, Ella, Greyson, Beckham, Lucia, and Milina. She adored spending time with them, whether it was coloring, painting, playing board games, doing crafts, or simply sharing laughter and love. She also took great joy in nurturing and supporting them throughout their lives. Carmen was known for her passion for needlework, crocheting, cross-stitch, and embroidery. She found joy in simple pleasures such as gardening, cooking, doing puzzles, and spending time with family. She was a devoted Catholic and held strong in her faith. Throughout her life, Carmen touched the lives of many with her generosity, compassion, and grace. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. Carmen will be dearly missed by her family. May she find eternal peace until the day we are reunited with her again.
