Obituary of Bruce F. Brennan, Jr. Retired Detective NYPD

Brennan, Bruce F. Jr., of Easley, SC, formerly of Long Island, NY passed suddenly on Monday, February 20, 2017 at his sister’s home in East Islip, NY. Retired NYPD Warrants Detective, Bruce was a heroic 9/11 First Responder. Adored husband of Kate Thomas Brennan. Beloved son of Patricia Brennan and Bruce F. Brennan, Sr. Dearest brother of Kim Brennan Joyce. Respected brother-in-law of Chris Joyce. Cherished uncle of Christopher and Gillian Joyce. Loving son-in-law of James and Dolores Thomas. Devoted brother-in-law of Michael and Jennifer Solarek. Fond brother of Catherine Brennan. Dear stepson of Joanne Brennan. Bruce will be dearly missed by his faithful dog, Mulligan. In addition to his dedication to his family and friends, Bruce was a successful Mopar Drag Car Racer and avid pistol and rifle enthusiast, including a member of the NRA and Belton Gun Club, Belton, SC. He was an active 4th Degree Brother Sir Knight of Columbus, Council 9576, Assembly 3065, Pickens, SC. Reposing at Chapey & Sons East Islip Funeral Home. Visiting Saturday and Sunday 2:00PM until 4:30PM & 7:00PM until 9:30PM. A Religious Service will be held at the CenterPoint Church, Massapequa, NY on Monday at 11:00AM. Cremation to follow.
