Obituary

ANNINO- Agatha “Taffy,” of Audobon, PA, formerly of Babylon, NY, on December 30, 2023 was welcomed into the arms of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, where she will spend eternity. Devoted wife of the late J. Robert “Bob” Annino. Survived by her beloved children Janet (Dave) Kuchta, Carol Annino, and Susan (Tony) Ibarguen, her cherished grandchildren Kerri Kuchta, Kasey (Alex) O’Bruba, Alex (Ryan) Hartley, Teddy (Kelly) Ibarguen, and Robbie Ibarguen, and her treasured great grandchildren Jackson O’Bruba and Baby Hartley on the way. Also survived by dear siblings Crispin Proto, Vera (Guy) Guinta, Eugene (Gerry) Proto, and Lucy Cardon and loved by many other friends and relatives. She joins her parents Peter and Frances Proto, her brother Tommy Proto, her sister Connie Yanetta, her sisters-in-law Angie Proto and Lucy Proto, and her brother-in-law Larry Cardon. She was born on May 16, 1930 in Brooklyn, NY, to Peter & Frances Proto. After graduating with her nursing degree in 1950 Taffy served as a dedicated and devoted Pediatric Registered Nurse for 40 years. On August 31, 1952 she married her beloved, J. Robert (“Bob”) Annino, a loving man of dignity, who cherished Taffy throughout their lives. Together, they raised their three girls in West Islip, NY and Captree Island, NY until Bob’s passing on September 10, 1996. Taffy relocated to the gulf shores of St. Petersburg, Florida from 1997 to 2018. She moved north to beautiful Shannondell in Valley Forge, PA, from 2018 to the present. There she enjoyed her many friends, concerts, events, lectures, woodworking class, choir, and her 5th Floor Keswick neighbors and gatherings. Taffy was a kind-hearted giver, a merciful woman of faith, and a child of God. She courageously overcame many illnesses over the decades

Reposing at The Fredrick J. Chapey & Sons West Islip Funeral Home, 1225 Montauk Hwy. Viewing Friday, January 5, 2024, 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Celebration of the Liturgy of Christian Burial on Saturday, January 6, 2024 at 9:30 AM at St. Joseph's R.C. Church, Babylon, NY. Interment to follow at Pinelawn Memorial Park, Pinelawn, NY. A Celebration of Life will be held at Shannondell in Audobon, PA on a date to be announced.
