Obituary

Forever in our hearts. Carolyn Gardell, 81, of Brooklyn, NY, died at home in Brentwood, NY on November 10, 2023. She was born in Brooklyn in 1942 to Placid and Caroline Dordoni. Carolyn met the love of their life, William in Brooklyn and just celebrated their 61 year wedding anniversary this past October. Carolyn and William were blessed with three beautiful children, Patty Sue, Billy John, and Larry. They moved from Brooklyn to Brentwood in 1973 where they raised their children along with chickens, pigeons, geese, and any other animals Bill picked up along the way. Though she loved her children very much, Carolyn’s greatest achievement were her 10 grandchildren; Jamie, Carolyn, Crystal, Nicholas, Isabella, Brittany, Emily, Loralee, Emma, and Ethan. Carolyn cherished her time with her grandchildren and those grandchildren had children of their own. Carolyn became a Gigi in 2012, when her first great grandchild was born, Liam. Shortly after came Silas, Adalynn, Colton, and Weston. Carolyn will always be remembered for her love of tea, Disney, and using all her children and grandchildren as human shields for bees. We’ll always imagine hearing her say “BILL!” one more time. We couldn’t have asked for a better wife, mother, grandmother, and Gigi and will miss Carolyn every day. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all those who loved her.
