The last two years have been the biggest challenge of our lives. In the fall of 2020, Theresa was diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease and has since been in and out of rehab four times. I was with her every day 11-7, but the last time she entered she knew she was not coming home. She had lost the ability to stand and walk and Parkinson's had robbed her of her voice. For the last 10-12 days she ate nothing and stopped drinking.
Last week our son, Chip, flew in from AZ, where he had moved last year with his family, and he, and his sisters, Mary and Theresa were continually with me at the nursing home. Even though Theresa could not speak, I knew she understood and we shared stories and memories all week long. It was such a beautiful time. She knew her children would stay close to each other and would watch over me.
Last Friday her breathing became irregular. At five o'clock I saw one tear run down her right cheek and at 6:25 she passed. We shared a wonderful, magnificent life and I believe she is with her brother, father and mother in God's kingdom. Probably hugging her Babcia too.
I am so grateful to our good God who made us for each other. Please pray for her (I'll take a prayer too).
