Obituary of George R. Lundin, Jr.

Lundin, George R., Jr. Oakdale, LI, on January 15, 2017. Proprietor of Lundin Auto Sales of Sayville, since 1982. Devoted husband of Mary E. Reilly-Lundin. Loving father of George C. Lundin, Krista Michalski, Dana Lundin, Lorraine Foden and Michael Reilly. Cherished Pa of 11 grandchildren. Beloved son of Lydia McCleery, the late George R. Lundin, Sr. and the late John McCleery. Dear brother of Larry and Bruce Lundin, Debra Hartley, John McCleery, and the late Timothy McCleery. In addition to the love for his family, George was a proud and dedicated fourth degree member of the Knights of Columbus Council, Our Lady of the Rosary #4428, Deer Park, NY. He was past Grand Knight and former District Deputy. George currently served as the Suffolk Chapter Chairman for the Knights of Columbus. Reposing at The Fredrick J. Chapey & Sons East Islip Funeral Home, 200 East Main Street (1/2 Mile West of the S.S. Parkway, Exit 45W). Celebration of the Liturgy of Christian Burial Friday 10:15 AM at Ss. Cyril & Methodius R.C. Church, Deer Park, LI. Interment to follow at Long Island National Cemetery, Pinelawn, LI. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations be made in George’s loving memory to the Suffolk Chapter Charities, Inc., 305 Lynn Avenue, East Northport, NY 11731 (Please write Veterans in the memo section of check). Visiting Wednesday and Thursday 2:00PM until 4:30PM and 7:00PM until 9:30PM.
