Obituary

lsie Phillips Loth was born on November 25,1922. She was one of three children to her parents George and Elsie Lake. She survived her brothers George and Edward. She met and married John A. Phillips in 1945. They had 2 children, Elsa Loth Heintz and and Jack Phillips Loth and resided in Massapequa Park, NY. After Jack Phillips’ untimely death in 1949, Elsie married Herbert Loth in 1951 and settled in North Babylon, NY, where they raised 2 additional children, Linda Loth Stein and Paul Loth. Elsie was the supreme loving homemaker for her family and taking care of them was her full time job! Along with that she valued her many friendships and being with her extended families also, the Phillips’, Cashins, Lakes and Loths. She was a parishioner at St Joseph’s RC Church in Babylon for 68 years. That is where she found her “calling,” volunteering at St Joseph’s Thrift Shop for over 20 years where she was surrounded by so many loving ladies who became her dearest friends. She also volunteered for many years for the American Cancer Society. Elsie is survived by her daughter Elsa Loth Heintz and her husband Robert, her daughter, Linda Loth Stein and her husband Michael and her son Paul and his wife Kathleen. Her son and our beloved brother Jack Phillips Loth passed away this September and is survived by his wife, Jean. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, Kathryn Meachum and her husband Tom, Robert Heintz and his wife Nancy, and Christopher Heintz and his wife Stacey, Sarah Phillips Loth, Margot Phillips Loth, Brian Sheridan, Michael Stein and Christopher Volpe. And then her greatgrandchildren, Eryn, Phillip, Daniel, Brody, Elyse, Spencer, Ethan and Samuel.

We have been blessed by having our mother in our lives. She has been through the best of times and the worst of times in her life with a gentle tenacity. She was always an inspiration for her kind caring concern for all in her life. But mostly, she will be remembered for her unconditional love always. We love you Mom. Rest In Peace gentle woman.
