Obituary

On Saturday, July 11, 2020 the world lost a great man. Krzysztof “Chris” Banach was my dad and my best friend!! Everyone who knew him described him as just a “good guy.” Almost to a fault, he was one of the kindest, most courteous & selfless men to have lived. If he only had a nickel and you asked him for a dime, he would figure out a way to get you that dime. He was an avid reader and loved a good debate about politics, history or both was even better. He loved people and could talk to anyone, anywhere, about anything. He had a million stories and was willing to share them with whoever would listen. He was a mentor and friend to many and will be remembered fondly by all who crossed paths with him. In his younger years he lived a life full of adventure and enjoyed every bit of it. Krzysztof was born in a small rural town in northeastern Poland, moved away from his family and hometown at age 14 to go to a big city for high school, was drafted into the Polish army at 20 and then worked as a ship builder. Escaping communist Poland in the mid 1980’s and moving to the US, he was the epitome of the immigrant American dream. He was an extremely hard worker, successfully provided for his family and helped countless others do the same thing along the way. He had a positive impact on all those who had a chance to get to know him. Krzysztof was a loving and dedicated father(tatuś) and grandfather(Dzia-Dzia). He is survived by his brother Marek, son Tomasz and his granddaughters Arya and Emma. Nothing made him prouder or put a bigger smile on his face than his two granddaughters. They will miss out on so much wisdom he had to impart about life and the world. After fighting as hard as anyone could against cancer, the man who taught me how to be a man will be forever missed but never ever forgotten!! RIP Dad/Tatuś/Dzia Dzia </3 :'(
