Obituary of Mary R. Cohan

Cohan, Mary R. 84 of Bethpage, NY on October 3, 2016. Predeceased by her beloved husband George S. Cohan. Mary passed peacefully on October 3, 2016 at her home surrounded by her loving family. Mary was the devoted mother of 4 sons George(Carol), Ralph (Terry), Robert (Donna) and Gary (Gina). She was the cherished grandmother of Erin, Gregory, Erica (Jeremy), Mary Jo (Joseph), Jessica (Tim), Danielle, Rebecca, Gary and Gianna. Mary was the adored great grandmother of Madison, Lily, Joseph and Evan. She is survived by her loving brother Robert "Bobby" Zappone (Sandy) of Boynton Beach, FL. She was a loyal aunt, cousin and friends of many. Mary was an active member of the community and a member of Bethpage Seniors, Young at Hearts, Mercy League & Brave Hearts. She loved playing cards with the men in her community, dancing, bingo and cooking a great Italian meal. In Lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made to the American Cancer Society or St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital in Mary’s name. Visitation on Wednesday 7-9:30 and Thursday 2-4:30 & 7-9:30 PM at The Bethpage Chapey and Sons Funeral Home 20 Hicksville Road. The funeral mass will be held at St. Martin of Tours R.C. Church, Central Avenue, Bethpage, NY at 10:00 AM. Burial at Calverton National Cemetery.
