Obituary of Mary Louise Gengo

Gengo, Mary Louise of Islip Terrace, LI on September 20, 2016. Devoted wife of the late Anthony C. Gengo. Loving mother of Anne Marie Helmke, Joseph Gengo and the late Michael Gengo. Beloved mother in law of Christopher Helmke, Paula Gengo and Denise Gengo. Cherished grandmother of Christopher, Anthony, Jonathan, Steven, Raina and Michael. Fond sister and aunt to the many loving members of the Riordan family. In addition to the love for her family, Mary Louise received her Master’s Degree in Social Work at Stony Brook University in 1989 and dedicated many years working for South Oaks Hospital in Amityville, LI. She was an active committee member of St. Peter the Apostle R.C. Church. Mary Louise was a Eucharistic Minister and a volunteer for Our Lady of Consolation Nursing Home in West Islip, LI. Reposing at The Fredrick J. Chapey & Sons East Islip Funeral Home, 200 East Main Street (1/2 Mile West of the S.S. Parkway, Exit 45W). Celebration of the Liturgy of Christian Burial, Saturday 9:30AM at St. Peter the Apostle R.C. Church, Islip Terrace, LI. Interment to follow at St. Charles Cemetery, Farmingdale, LI. Visitation Friday 2:00PM until 4:30PM and 7:00PM until 9:30PM.
