Laraia, Martin P. (Marty) of Bethpage, LI, on September 4, 2016. Loving Husband of Gerri (Smith) for 56 years. Devoted father of Joseph (Robin) of Damascus, MD., Kevin (Liz) of Ankeny, IA and Michael (Vincenza) of Islip Terrace, LI. Proud and cherished grandfather of Gregory (Ashley), Emily, Samantha, Bryan (Amanda), Jason, Giulia and Michael. Marty was an American History teacher for 37 years at H. Frank Carey H.S. in Franklin Square, past Grand Knight of Rev. Michael J. Hartigan Council K of C Bethpage and past Faithful Navigator of Pope John XXIII General Assembly of K of C. Reposing at the Fredrick J. Chapey & Sons Bethpage Funeral Home, 20 Hicksville Road (one mile north of the Southern State Parkway, exit 29). Celebration of the liturgy of Christian burial, St. Martin of Tours R.C. Church, Thursday, 11:00 AM. Cremation private. Visiting Wednesday 2-4:30 & 7-9:30 PM.
