Obituary of Thomas R. Koeniges

Koeniges~ Thomas R. of Bay Shore, LI, formerly of West Islip, LI, passed away on February 22, 2018 surrounded by family after a brief illness at the age of 87. Beloved husband of Kay Koeniges for 58 years. Loving father of Katherine (Stephen) DeSimone and the late Thomas R. Koeniges, Jr. Cherished grandfather of Stephen, Thomas and Katie. Dear brother of the late Patricia Connelly and Martin Koeniges. Photo Journalist at Look Magazine, he traveled the world. Later as a Newsday Photographer he chronicled some of the biggest Long Island Stories. Reposing at the Fredrick J. Chapey & Sons West Islip Funeral Home, 1225 Montauk Hwy. (1/4 mile west of the Robert Moses Cswy.). Celebration of the Liturgy of Christian Burial, Monday 10:00 AM, at St. Joseph's R.C. Church, Babylon, LI. Cremation private.
