Obituary of Joseph H. Johnson

Johnson, Joseph H., of West Islip, LI, on July 11, 2016. Beloved husband of the late Gertrude Johnson. Devoted father of Joanne and the late Lawrence Timms, Mary and William O’Shaughnessy, Joseph H. Johnson, Jr., Kathleen McGowan and Paul Johnson. Cherished grandfather of thirteen and great grandfather of three. Joseph was a proud Army Veteran serving during World War II and a retired Lieutenant with the FDNY. Joseph was also a proud Fourth Degree Knight, Knights of Columbus. Reposing at The Fredrick J. Chapey & Sons West Islip Funeral Home, 1225 Montauk Hwy. (1/4 mile west of the Robert Moses Cswy.). Celebration of the Liturgy of Christian Burial Friday 9:45 AM at Our Lady of Perpetual Help R.C. Church, Lindenhurst, LI. Interment to follow at Long Island National Cemetery, Pinelawn, LI. Visiting Thursday 2:00 PM until 4:30 PM and 7:00 PM until 9:30 PM.
