Obituary of Dorothy C. Holzknecht

Holzknecht, Dorothy, of Sebastian, FL, formerly of North Merrick, LI. Beloved wife of the late Raymond Holzknecht. Survived by loving sister Helen Goetz. Loving mother of Barbara (William), Janet (Walter), Raymond (Susan), Ellen (Mark) and George (Victoria). Cherished grandmother of Keith, Alison, Walter Jr., Robert, Joseph, Erik, Raymond III, Lisa, Darlene, Steven, Kerri and Michael. Adored great grandmother of Molly, Xander, Divinity, Samantha, John, Autumn, Daniel, Riley, Sarina, Miranda, Brian, Alice, Madalyn, Matthew, Amber, Marley and Maggie. Dorothy was predeceased by her grandsons William Sean and Ryan. Dorothy enjoyed gatherings with family and friends and sharing her love and making everyone smile. Her free time was spent at bingo. She traveled often to spend time with her family spread out in New York, Montana and Florida. Reposing at The Fredrick J. Chapey & Sons East Islip Funeral Home, 200 East Main Street, (1/2 Mile West of the S.S. Parkway, Exit 45W). A Religious Service will be held at the Funeral Home on Friday at 12:30PM. Interment to follow at St. Charles Cemetery, Farmingdale, LI. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations be made in Dorothy's loving memory to Visiting Nurses Association & Hospice Foundation, 1110 35th Lane, Vero Beach, FL 32960. Visiting Thursday 5:00PM until 8:00PM and Friday 11:30AM until 12:30PM.
