O'Keefe, John William, of East Islip, LI on June 29, 2016. Proud Veteran of the United States Marine Corps. Dedicated former Chief and Commissioner of the East Islip Fire Department with over 50 years of service to his community. Served with the AMVETS Post 18 for over 25 years. Beloved husband of the late Kay L. O'Keefe. Devoted father of John W. (Marcia) O'Keefe, Darcy A. (Jay W.) Lee, Katherine E. (Alfred) Catolico and the late Edward J. O'Keefe. Cherished grandpa of Keira, Sophie, Declan, Hailey, Shay, Kaylin and Regan. Loving brother of Margaret Vincent and the late Elizabeth Schaller, Alice O'Keefe and Thomas O'Keefe. Reposing at The Fredrick J. Chapey & Sons East Islip Funeral Home, 200 East Main Street, (1/2 Mile West of the S.S. Parkway, Exit 45W). There will be an AMVETS Service at the Funeral Home on Friday at 3:30PM as well as a Firematic Service by the East Islip Fire Department Friday 8:00PM. Celebration of the Liturgy of Christian Burial at St. Mary's R.C. Church, East Islip, LI Saturday 9:15AM. Interment to follow at Calverton National Cemetery, Calverton, LI. Visiting Thursday 7:00PM until 9:30PM and Friday 2:00PM until 4:30PM and 7:00PM until 9:30PM.
