Obituary of Anne DeTullio

Anne De Tullio - Our Mom - Words of Remembrance We were blessed with the most wonderful mother and because of that, we had the most marvelous childhoods. We were always loved unconditionally. Our Mom was our teacher, nurse, confidante and spiritual example. She was a woman of faith and instilled in us a love of God. She was the kind of Mom who spent hours playing with us - making cars out of cracker boxes, coloring in books with us and planning birthday parties. Years later, this patience and love included her grandchildren. She delighted in them, loving and nurturing each of them in turn. She was never too tired to read the same story over and over, get down on the floor to play with them or rock them to sleep. Our Mom was a truly giving person, but she went about it quietly and out of love. If a neighbor needed a ride to the doctor, or needed someone to shop for her, or just needed someone to listen, there was Mom. She gave with a quiet elegance, not for praise or recognition, but out of love. When we think of Mom, we always think of Matthew, Chapter 6: “Beware of practicing your righteousness before other people in order to be seen by them, for then you will have no reward from your Father who is in heaven. Thus, when you give to the needy, sound no trumpet before you… And your Father who sees in secret will reward you. We know Mom has her reward now. Our Mom taught us that through hard work, we could achieve all our goals and she supported us in all our endeavors. Her death leaves a huge void in our lives, but she will remain in our hearts forever. God bless her.
