GUTMANN- Carolyn K., of West Islip, NY and formally of the Village of Babylon passed away on February 13, 2024. Beloved wife of Leonard, who passed in 2010. Devoted mother of Peter (Mary Catherine Schaeffer), Kathryn, and Elizabeth (James) Slevin. Cherished grandmother of Michael (Jessica) and Lori and treasured great-grandmother of Jameson and Havilah. Lifelong member of the Babylon United Methodist Church for 78 years. Proud 45-year member of the Long Island Yacht Club. Former Board member and Lifetime member of the Babylon Village Historical Society as well as a member of the West Islip Historical Society. An avid reader who participated in several local monthly book clubs. Retired from the Long Island State Park Commission in 1996. Shared a love of boating with her parents (Adam & Madeline Kopf) which continued with Leonard and children. Reposing at The Fredrick J. Chapey & Sons West Islip Funeral Home, 1225 Montauk Hwy., (1/4 mile west of the Robert Moses Cswy.). Funeral Service Friday 11:00 AM at United Methodist Church, Babylon, NY. Cremation to follow privately. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Carolyn’s loving memory to the Gutmann Scholarship Fund, c/o Babylon Rotary Club, PO Box 672, Babylon, NY 11702.
