Obituary of Elizabeth Ann Cassero

Cassero- Elizabeth Ann née Vaglio, passed at age 76 years and is survived by her children, Nancy Agnello, George Hofgren IV, her son-in-law, Greg Agnello, SR, as well as her grandchildren Alice Hofgren, George Hofgren V, Emily Hofgren, Greg Agnello, JR, Jenna Agnello, and family througout the NY area. Betty was a lifelong educator, teaching school after her graduation from the College of New Rochelle and returning to teach in the Amityville Schools after starting her family. She earned her Masters in Education at Adelphi University and was an active member in the ATA and NYSUT. Betty retired in 2005, but returned as an adjunct professor and tutor at Nassau Community College from 2005-2016. She was an active and devout member of the St Patrick's Parish in Bay Shore for over thirty years. Her joys included gardening, walking, decorating, reading, entertaining, traveling, movies, musicals, and her grandchildren. Betty had many friends and colleagues; she will be missed by all- Reposing at the Fredrick J. Chapey & Sons West Islip Funeral Home, 1225 Montauk Hwy. (1/4 mile west of the Robert Moses Cswy.). Celebration of the Liturgy of Christian Burial, Tuesday 10:00 AM, at St. Patrick's R.C. Church, Bay Shore, LI. Interment Mt. St. Mary's Cemetery, Flushing, NY. Visiting Monday 2:00 PM until 4:30 PM and 7:00 PM until 9:30 PM.
