Our family would like to share the following special requests and suggestions for her funeral/wake, which came from a video her son Vincent took of our mother last year.: 1— Our mom, Lily, would prefer her loved ones not to wear black because "black makes you cry more." She doesn't want us crying that much because she wants us to be happy that she will be with her loved ones and Our Lord Jesus Christ in Heaven. She wants us to wear light colors, "even if there is a storm outside." 2- She wants the ladies to wear wide-brim hats coming to her wake and down the church's aisles. 3- For those who wish to send flowers, our mom preferred white flowers, especially lilies. She asked that we not spend too much on flowers and that some be left at the church. She would be happy if guests bought a plant and took it home. In place of flowers, donations in her name to St. Jude's Hospital for Children would be appreciated.
