Obituary

Raoul was born the youngest of 11 siblings in Port Au Prince, Haiti on Januray 30th, 1942 to parents Nelaton and Lydia Rouzeau. His predeceased siblings include his full brothers Emile & Carlo, full sisters Edith & Danielle & 5 other half siblings he was not raised with. His young life immediately faced challenges as he lost both of his parents prior to the age of 12. Through the support of his siblings they were able to survive the meager economic conditions in Haiti. In search of better life opportunities he took the courageous steps of leaving his home country. He spent time working aboard cruise ships in the Bahamas until he was able to immigrate to the United States. Upon arriving in the Unites States he worked diligently as an oil burner mechanic. He then studied to become a laboratory technician and maintained a multi-decade career working at Jamaica hospital in Queens, New York. His life would ultimately change the first moment he met his one true love Josette. After a brief courtship they married on April 20th, 1968. They remained together for their entire natural lives and celebrated their 50th golden anniversary in 2018. The both of them would eventually become naturalized US citizens on September 14th, 1976. Together they had four children including Jennifer, Lionel, Michael and Philip.
