Obituary

Clarissa “Connie” Clarke Ringstad May 8th, 1932 - November 12th, 2023 Connie Ringstad, nee Clarke, of New York City, Westhampton, NY and Mystic, CT passed into her eternal rest on November 12th , 2023, in Babylon, NY. She is survived by her 2 sons, John G. (Mimi) of Woodstock, MD and Geoffrey B. (Kathleen) of Gilgo Beach, NY and 7 grandchildren, Cullen, Teagan, Kaileigh, Kate, Cal, Tess and Quinn. Connie was predeceased by her husband of 69 years, John G. “Jack” Ringstad, her mother Christina “Chinchu” & John B. Boucher of New York City, Westhampton, NY and Delray Beach, FL and her brother Louie Clarke of New York City and Westhampton, NY. She is also survived by sister-in-law Kathy Clarke of Westhampton, NY niece Virginia Clarke-Pope and nephew Louis Clarke Jr., both of New York City. Connie was a graduate of Convent of the Sacred Heart on the Upper East Side and Katharine Gibbs Secretarial School. Before her marriage to Jack, she worked as a model for the Ford Agency. After the birth of her sons, Connie returned to the workforce as a long-time employee of the Steuben Glass showroom on Madison Avenue, receiving Employee of the Year recognition in 1985. She and Jack were long-time members of both the Westhampton Country Club and Swordfish Beach Club of Westhampton Beach, NY. In the late 1980’s, after leaving NYC for Stonington Borough, CT, Connie and Jack became the proprietors of the specialty grocer Sugar and Spice. Connie later shared her retail expertise at the Company of Craftsmen located on Main Street in Mystic, CT, happily serving the thousands of visitors that arrived each summer. Though Connie loved her hometown of New York City, she and Jack made their forever home in Mystic, CT, which they shared with their 4 doggies- Beauregard, Guinevere, Lancelot & Victoria while hosting fabulous pool parties for their countless friends, family, and colleagues. Connie was always the life of every party and will be sorely missed.
