Obituary

Goehring, Charles E. On August 6, 2023. Originally from Queens, his family moved to Amityville where he graduated from Amityville High School. After attending Bethany College in Kansas, he moved back and settled on Long Island where he had a long career at Brentwood High School. During his career, he was a teacher, coach, and administrator. He was a well known Athletic Director where he earned numerous awards and was instilled in the NYS Hall of Fame. Charles is predeceased by his parents, Charles and Hanny, his sister Joan-Carol, wife Margaret, and his son Brett. He is survived by his loving wife of more than 20 years Jean, sister Ruth (Susan), daughter Mary, son Charles (Laurie), and grandchildren Matthew, Rebecca and Nicholas. As well as many nieces, nephews and friends who have become family.
