Sweeney – Stephen, J., 74, of Islip Terrace, New York. Beloved husband of Loretta (Luongo) Sweeney. Loving brother of Edward (late), Mary Cavallo, and John Sweeney. Proud father to Darcy, Kellie, Scott, Victor, Catherine, Jerry, Tiffany, and Danielle. Loving grandfather of Jessica, Stephen, Eddy, Katie, David, Jordan, Cooper, Teagan, Vincenza, and Victor III. Wonderful great-grandfather of Reese, Riley, and Rory. Steve proudly served our country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. Avid lover of golfing, reading, fishing, and his family. Celebration of Life services will be held at the Chapey Funeral Home 200 East Main St, East Islip, New York. Visitation Thursday, March 9th, 2023, from 4:00 - 8:00 pm (services). Committal will follow at Calverton National Cemetery, Calverton, New York on Friday, March 10, 2023 at 10:00 AM. Family & friends please gather in the rest area at the cemetery at 9:45 AM.
