Obituary

Patricia L. Grover, 79, formerly of Hicksville, NY, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 9, 2022, after a brief illness. Pat was the loving wife of Robert “Bob”, recently celebrating 50 years of marriage together in June. Patricia was born in Harrisburg, PA, on March 1, 1943. After moving to Long Beach, NY she met and fell in love with Bob. After they were married, they moved to their residence of 40+ years in Hicksville. When Patricia’s children were young, the phrase “stay-at-home-mom” didn’t exist. It was usual for women to stay home with the children while their husbands worked. But even by the standards of the era, Patricia was an exceptional wife and mother. She cared deeply for her family. She did this not out of obligation, but because of who she was. She always ensured that her boys were safe, healthy, and happy. When Patricia became a grandmother to six beautiful grandchildren her dedication to her family continued. She quickly became a caretaker to her grandchildren and her face would light up as soon as she was with them. It was apparent right away how she loved spending time with them. And shopping for all of the toys to spoil them! In addition to her loving husband, she is survived by sons, Christopher (wife Lori) of Nazareth, PA, and Robert (wife Melissa) of Smithtown, NY, Daughter, Elizabeth (husband, Jack), NY; and six grandchildren: Samantha, Kayla, Matthew, Christopher, Allison, and Daniel.
