Andy's Story

Andy had been struggling with a severely debilitating disease called MSA (Multiple System Atrophy) since as early as 2016. In the long process to this final diagnosis, Andy was devastated as was his immediate family. Unfortunately, he chose to deal with this health crisis on his own which meant he turned away from the love and support he undoubtedly would have received from all of his friends and extended family. As his wife and children, we needed to respect his wishes. Please forgive Andy. Andy loved you all so very much but this is how he felt he needed to manage this major challenge. I, along with Jessica, Brianna, Drew and Lauren all want to thank you for coming and hope you understand that at this great time of loss we will be unable to recount in detail the road that led us here today. Through our grieving process, there will come a time when we will be able to more fully inform you of Andy’s struggle. For now, this is what we need to do as a family on our journey to healing. We sincerely hope you understand. With love and appreciation -- Debbie

MSA

Multiple System Atrophy (MSA) is a rare, degenerative neurological disorder affecting your body's involuntary functions, including blood pressure, breathing and motor control. MSA shares many Parkinson's disease-like symptoms, such as slow movement, rigid muscles and poor balance. There is no cure. The condition progresses gradually and eventually leads to death.
