Anne D. Kelly, widow of Thomas J., was born in Brooklyn on July 24, 1925. She was the devoted mother of Dorothy Taylor, Richard, John and Lee, and the loving grandmother of Andrew, Catherine and Liam Kelly. She has been a member of St. Joseph’s parish, Babylon, since 1983. While being a mother to four children, she still found the time to be a member of the St. Vincent dePaul Society for over 25 years, and was active in Parish Outreach, Ministry of Consolation, Book Club and served as a pastoral visitor to Good Samaritan Hospital. She was also a former member of Catholic Daughters of America, Court Maria Regina, in Brooklyn, and the National Council of Catholic Women. In addition, she served as past President of the Rosary Society. She loved music, singing and dancing. She was an avid reader and loved crossword puzzles. Doing the NY Times crossword puzzle on Sundays with her husband, Tom, were special times. Anne was very committed to her faith, as exemplified by her extensive volunteer work, as well as her family which were the driving forces in her life. She always stood up for what she believed in and was an example to all of her children. At 96 years old she saw and lived through so much with clarity and strength of conviction. She remained engaged in the world throughout her life and lived life on her own terms - a true force of nature. She will be missed.
