Obituary

Lily Cestaro, Passarella, 87 of West Islip, New York, and recently of Wading River, New York, Our beloved Wife, Mother, Grandmother, and Great Grandmother, passed away on January 30, 2022, surrounded by her loving husband, Michael Cestaro of 70 years, and family at home. Lily was born in Brooklyn, New York, the youngest of 14 siblings. Lily’s parents owned the neighborhood grocery store, farm, and saloon. The young and handsome Michael Cestaro took note of the young and beautiful Lily; Michael asked for and received her hand in marriage in August of 1952. Michael and Lily have 8 children, Robert (Kathryn) Cestaro, Mary Cestaro Clark Bartlett (Russell), Edward Cestaro (late Diana), Micheline Cestaro O’Brien, Judith Cestaro Jones (Thomas), Sam Cestaro (Linda), Michael Cestaro (Lisa), and Lilianne Cestaro Luppens (James). Lily is survived by 24 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, with more on the way. They were the light of her life, and all loved Lily and cherished their time with her. Lily was an active parishioner at Our Lady of Lourdes, West Islip, for many years, Lily ran the bingo games for 20 years! Lily is also lovingly remembered by her extended Passarella family and friends in Loretto, Tennessee. Lily was a grand and magnificent Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, an Excellent Cook, Host, and Card Player! Her home was a warm welcome to family, neighbors, and friends! Lily’s memory will continue to live in the hearts of her family who loved her!
