Obituary

Mary C.Hoffman died peacefully January 5, 2022. She was born in Brooklyn November 17,1932 to the late Joseph and Mary Ann McNally. She is preceded in death by her brothers Joe and Michael and he sisters Rose Nuckel and Eileen Bua. As a former resident of Bay Shore she raised her children with her husband John who died suddenly at age 42. She was the beloved mother of Mary Ann (Jeffrey Germaine), John (Donna), Rick (Nancy), Cathy Grasso (Dominick deceased),Theresa Laubscher (James), Michael (Judy Wansor). Adored Grandmother to Sean and Carolyn Germaine, Erin Hoffman, Kelly Schwamb, Christina Hoffman, Allison Chestnutt, Lindsey Keesee, Courtney Bertucci, and Jennie Grasso. ]She was also Great Grandmother to Jace and Jackson Schwamb, Will and new born Brodie Chestnutt.

Mary C. Hoffman was a devoted Irish Catholic woman. She raised her six children at St.Patrick's Roman Catholic Church, her two sons were alter boys, and her oldest daughter taught CCD. Mary was a parishioner for over 20 years. She was a hardworking woman before retiring Mary worked as a CNA at a nursing home. She was a smart, loving, and witty with a great sense of humor. She made everyone feel welcomed, she became everyone's grandmother. She was adored by her nine grandchildren and her four great grandchildren. Mary's hobbies Included painting, drawing, and needle point, as well playing cards and bingo. Later in life, Mary lived in a nursing home in North New Jersey due to immobility, Mary passed away from chronic illness such as COPD and congestive heart failure at the age of 89.
