Obituary

In Memory of Edward Lawrence Hoffman (April 12, 1936 to October 24, 2021) Edward “Ned” L. Hoffman, age 85 of North Massapequa, New York passed away on Sunday evening, October 24, 2021 at Good Shepherd Hospice in Rockville Centre.  He was born in New York City on April 12, 1936 to the late Robert E. and Mary A. “May” (nee Reilly) and predeceased by sister, Roberta “Nancy” (nee Preisel).  Edward graduated from St. John’s University in 1957 with a B.B.A. in Accounting and then continued on to New York University where he received a certificate in Programming and System Analysis and graduated in 1970.  He worked as Data Processing Manager for 23 years for publishing companies.  In his retirement, he worked for Plainedge School District as a Bus Operator another 25 years and recently retired from that position.  Edward served in the National Guard 107th Infantry from 1955 to1961, and was a long time member of the Knights of Columbus. Edward in his spare time also volunteered at St. James Church in Seaford, was an avid golfer, and enjoyed bowling. He is predeceased by his wife Amelia “Amy” (nee Stasi) whom he married on July 1, 1961.  Edward is survived by his beloved children, Donna (Trey), Karen (Frank), Edward Jr. (Kim), Heather, Kathleen (Patrick) and adored grandchildren, Christopher, Andrew, Kyle, Owen, Claire, Jordan, Jessica, Emily, Amanda, and James.  Edward will be missed dearly!
