Obituary

Jane Courtien, a longtime resident of Brightwaters, passed away on Sunday, September 19th at the age of 69 years young. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, James Courtien of 22 years. Jane was born in Brooklyn on December 23, 1951, to the parents of Patrick Lawlor and Mary Lawlor. Jane was a former teacher, art therapist, painter, published author, loving wife, devoted mother, and a dear friend to all who knew her. On November 7th, 1981, she was married to her best friend, James Courtien. Jane was loved by many and will be greatly missed. She is survived by her daughter, Mary Clare McGroary, and her husband Daniel McGroary. She is also survived by her two sisters, Eileen Leonard and Mary Anne May as well as her brothers, Timothy Lawlor, Billy Lawlor, and Christopher Lawlor. She is preceded in death by her sister, Patricia Lawlor. "You will see in time that all family life has its ups and downs but love is the heart of what makes a family a family.
