Obituary

Baiata, Florence (Chickie), of Islip Terrace went to be with the Lord and her beloved late husband Richard (Dick) on August 6, 2021 at the age of 93. Loving mother of Jane (John) Tartamella, Joseph (Kim) Baiata and the late Richard. Cherished grandmother of Jennifer Caldwell, Nancy Weisenberger, Sharon Canzone, John Tartamella and Joseph, Michael and Richard Baiata. Devoted great grandmother of Sydney and Aiden Caldwell, Anne and David Weisenberger, Charlotte Bodie, Abbie and Abel Baiata. Active member of St. Peter's Church where she attended Daily Mass, was a Lector, Eucharistic Minister, Greeter, Rosarian, Ministry of Consolation, Sociable Seniors, Compassionate Care, Prayer Shaw Ministry, Legion of Mary, Brentwood Seniors. She made baby hats, tiny totes and therapy balls for Southside Hospital. She crocheted and quilted baby blankets for Birth Right. Also volunteered at Our Lady of Consolation as a Eucharistic Minister, NODA, and spiritual care companion.
