Giuseppe “Joseph” Frank Parisi, of Seaford, NY, passed away peacefully at the remarkable age of 104 at his daughter’s home in Suffield, CT on March 22, 2021, surrounded by his loving family. Born on September 30, 1916 in Manhattan, NY to Francesco and Rosaria (Cacciola) Parisi, Joe, the eldest of 7 children, was an inquisitive boy. Joe was always interested in electronics and would often take items apart and attempt to put them back together thus beginning his life-long legacy of being a jack of all trades! Joe attended James Monroe High School in New York, NY until 1931 when he had to leave to work for his father’s business, Modern Stuffed Toys, selling stuffed animals made of rabbit fur. He went to Harlem High School at night for two years to complete his academic education. On December 14, 1941, Joe met the love of his life, Jay, at an American Legion dance. This chance meeting would be the first sentence in their everlasting love story and change the course of their lives forever. Joe was a World War II veteran, having joined the US Army on January 18th, 1943, in Fort Dix, NJ. He was assigned to Headquarters Company, 1159th Combat Engineers Group as a Technician 4th Grade. His Battle and Campaign areas included the Rhineland and Central Europe. Joe was laying communication lines on the Ludendorff Bridge at Remagen, Germany on the Rhine River mere hours before it’s infamous collapse. Joe was honorably discharged on January 18th, 1945 holding the following decorations: American Theater Campaign Medal, EAME Campaign Medal with 2 bronze stars, Good Conduct Medal, Victory Ribbon, 1 Service Stripe and 1 Oversees Service Bar and Sharpshooter-carbine. Upon Joe’s return home after the war, Joe and Jay wed on September 23, 1945 and went on to have 4 children, Joe Jr., Rosanne, Robert, and Annette. In the mid-50’s, Joe, together with his 4 brothers, followed in their father’s footsteps and opened their own toy factory, Parisi Industries.

During the 70’s, Joe worked at Venus Scientific as a Facilities Manager until his retirement. Throughout his life, family and friends were always his number one priority. He loved entertaining at his home and invited the whole family, including friends and neighbors. There was always enough food to share and laughs to be had! As much as Joe loved his family, he equally loved his New York Yankees, New York Giants, playing piano, playing the harmonica, singing to his wife, playing chess, and traveling around the country with his wife in his Lincoln. Joe was a dedicated parishioner of Saint James Church in Seaford and a 4th Degree Member of the Knights of Columbus. Joe had many mottos, most notably, “Start the day with a smile and the whole world smiles with you” and “Never give up!” Anyone who knew Joe knew that he was the most loving husband, father, brother, and grandpa a family could ask for. Joe was predeceased by his parents, his wife and soulmate Jay, his siblings Tana, Fay, Tony, twins Jimmy and Herbie, and his son Robert. Joe is survived by his son Joe Jr., daughter Rosanne and her husband Richard, daughter-in-law Diane, daughter Annette and her husband Don, brother Sam and his wife Luci, 14 grandchildren Joey, Tom, Michael and his wife Tracy, Tony and his wife Jeannine, Jeanine and her husband Josh, Michelle, Phil and his wife Nicole, Lisa and her fiancé Jay, Brian and his wife Jen, Nicole and her husband Jonathon, Heather and her husband Jonathan, Christina and her husband Brandon, Christine and her husband Tom, Nicholas.

His 33 great-grandchildren Thomas, Guliana, Ava, Grace, Anthony, Christian, Thomas, Cheyenne, Gina, Justin, Dakota, Megan, Madison, Evan, Ethan, Kathryn, Kaitlyn, Christian, Jason, Tyler, Ava, Ashlynn, Aiden, Avery, Landon, Aubrey, Logan, Austin, Ava, Braiden, Lillianna, Blakely, Jack, 4 great-great-grandchildren Annalise, Juniper, Dream, Holden, his countless cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. Visitation at Funeral Home will be from 4:00 pm -8:00 pm on Thursday, April 8, 2021 at Fredrick J. Chapey & Sons Funeral Home, 20 Hicksville Road, Bethpage, NY. A Funeral Mass will be held at 9:30 am on Friday, April 9, 2021 at St. James R.C. Church, 80 Hicksville Road, Seaford, NY followed by burial at St. Charles Cemetery, 2015 Wellwood Avenue, Farmingdale, NY
