Obituary

Zirkel – Evelyn Louise (née Schlitz) of Holliswoods passed away peacefully from Covid-19 on January 22, 2021 at the age of 92. Loving and devoted wife to the late Jerry. Beloved mother of William (Bernadette), David (Barbara) and the late Mary Lou. Cherished grandmother (“Granny” vs. “Grammy”) of Kristen Kirsch (Josh), Michelle, Daniel, Bryan (fiancée Allison), Natalie, and Emily. Adored godmother and aunt to many. Evelyn was a woman who always cared about her family, was a great baker and enjoyed sewing as well as making crafts. Everyone just loved her homemade chocolate chip cookies, and her specialty cakes were welcomed at every family event. She loved animals, especially her Boston Terriers. Evelyn will be dearly missed. Please bring your favorite stories to share with everyone at the visitation. The family will receive visitors on Friday January 29th at Chapey & Sons Funeral Home, 20 Hicksville Road Bethpage, NY 11714 from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm and 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm. Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday January 30th at the Shrine Church of Saint Gerard Majella, 188-16 91st Ave Hollis, NY 11423 at 10:00 am. Internment at St. Charles Cemetery, 2015 Wellwood Ave. Farmingdale, NY following the Mass. Due to the pandemic all family and friends will be invited to lunch at a later date over the summer.
