Obituary

Dorothy Sanavaitis (nee Koslab) 93, of Broad Channel NY, formerly of Bay Shore, Uniondale and Greenpoint, passed away peacefully on Monday January 18, 2021. Dorothy was born June 27,1927 to John and Mary Koslab and was the last surviving sibling to her 9 sisters and 1 brother. Dorothy was the widow to the late Andrew Sanavaitis. They had 4 children: Joyce (Dave), Denise, Andy (Cheryl), Lynda (John), and 6 grandchildren: Kim (Chris), David (Stacey), Richie (Alison), Cynthia (Thomas), Nicole (Andrew) and John John, and 8 Great-Grandchildren: Christopher, Rachel, Heather, Cameron, Makenna, Carson, Madison, and Piper, and 8 grand puppies. Her funeral arrangements are with Fredrick J. Chapey & Sons of West Islip, a funeral mass is at St. Patrick’s RC Church in Bay Shore and her final resting place is at Long Island National Cemetery in Pinelawn.
