Obituary

Stephens - Patricia (Pat) A. (Maher), a long time resident of Long Island passed away in her home in Virginia Beach on Wednesday November 4, 2020. She was born in the Bronx, NY on April 21st 1939 to William “Bill” and Eileen Maher, along with her loving sisters Linda (Andy) Skarupa, Diane (Joe) Saukas and brother the late William “Bill” (Cindy) Maher. Pat was welcomed into the Stephens family on November 14, 1959 by marriage to the late John P. Stephens. Together they had 4 children John (Mindy) Stephens, Brian (Cathy) Stephens, the late Kevin Stephens and Colleen (Tuan) Nguyen. She was blessed with 8 grandchildren Chelsea and Nate Stephens; Conor, Cassidy and Erin Stephens; Casey, Drew and Easton Nguyen. Pat worked as a secretary in NYC and later spent many years working for the West Islip School system. Pat’s greatest joy was spending time with her family. Pat loved to travel around the world with both her friends and family. Family and friends are invited to a funeral service held at Our Lady of Lourdes R.C. Church, 455 Hunter Ave, West Islip, NY on Monday November 23th at 10:30 am. Interment to follow at Calverton National Cemetery, Calverton, LI. Please be aware there is limit of 10 people under the pavilion at the cemetery, therefore only immediate family will be under the pavilion. Please wear masks and practice social distancing. In Lieu of Flowers please make Donations in the Honor of Patricia A. Stephens to the Alzheimer’s Association. Due to the increase in COVID cases a celebration of Pat’s life will be planned in the Summer of 2021.
