Obituary

Lawrence “Larry” J. Pennisi, of East Islip, died on Sunday, March 22. He was 72. Mr. Pennisi was born on May 25, 1947 at Southside Hospital in Bay Shore, the third of eight children to Angelo A. Pennisi and Marie A. Piscopo. He graduated from Bay Shore High School in 1965. He married his childhood sweetheart Linda Jenny Persichilli. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, and their three children, Anthony J. Pennisi, spouse Claudia, Laurie M. Pennisi, spouse Laura, and Christopher J. Pennisi, spouse Amy. He was also the proud grandfather of five, Kristianna, Nicolas, Gianna, Kimberly, and Jayson. Mr. Pennisi worked for Grumman from 1965 to 1969. He then worked for the Nassau County Sheriff’s Department from 1969 to 1995 and is a retired Deputy Undersheriff, earning numerous awards for distinguished service. He then worked for Gabrielli Trucking as a service writer from 2006 to 2012. In lieu of flowers please make donations to the American Kidney Fund at www.kidneyfund.org.
