Obituary

Courtien- John Francis of Bay Shore, NY on January 8, 2020. Beloved husband of Joanne. Cherished father of Kate Oppenheimer. Loving grandfather of Wyatt James Oppenheimer. Dear brother of Maryanne Percy, Eileen, Frank, Arthur, Joseph, and David Courtien. John was a lifelong loyal Mets fan through the good and the bad (mostly bad). John enjoyed time spent gardening, cooking, and time with family at their second home in Cutchogue. Reposing at The Fredrick J. Chapey & Sons West Islip Funeral Home, (1/4 West of the Robert Moses Cswy.). Celebration of the Liturgy of Christian Burial Saturday, 10:00 AM at St. Patrick’s R.C. Church, Bay Shore, LI. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations in John’s loving memory to the Cancer Institute at Good Samaritan, 1000 Montauk Hwy, West Islip, NY 11795. Visitation Thursday 7:00 PM until 9:00 PM and Friday 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM and 7:00 PM until 9:00 PM.
