Obituary

Carolee Marie Maloney, courageous sister of Keith (Susan) of Bristol, RI and Jeff (Caryn) of Seaford, NY passed away peacefully on December 20th. Carolee was predeceased by her parents Marie and Keith Maloney of Hempstead, NY. Carolee had suffered a traumatic brain injury at age 7 when hit by a car; her life was always challenging but “Sis” (as her brothers called her) was a strong and determined woman who learned to walk, talk , write and read all over again, with some difficulty to be sure. But she did it and “carried on”! Carolee was a great teaser, loved to laugh, could have a sharp tongue and loved her “Mom and Dad” beyond all else except for her love of God and her devotion to the rosary. In addition to her brothers and their wives, Carolee leaves her nieces and nephews Keir (Matt) of Crested Butte, CO; Neile (Fred) of Barrington, RI, Shay of East Providence, RI and Ryan of New York, NY. In lieu of flowers, the family requests you make a donation to the charity of your choice in her memory. A funeral service will be held 12:30pm at Chapey Funeral Home in Bethpage on Monday, December 23rd, 2019, followed by a private burial at Holy Rood Cemetery in Westbury.
