Obituary of Albert Valentino

Albert Valentino passed away peacefully at home on May 25, 2018, at 75 years old surrounded by his family.
Born in Brooklyn in 1942, Al lived in Oakdale with the catch of his life, Jacqueline (Jackie) for 37 years until his final day. As a young man, Al’s love for boating began while serving for the US Navy. Between working as a Long Island Railroad electrician and running his exterminating business and motel, Al always made sure to find time for the important things in life – like a good fishing day. As active members of the Great South Bay Power Squadron, Al and Jackie continued their love for boating and socializing together with fellow friends.
He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Jackie, two daughters Melissa and Crista, and favorite grandson Christopher Jack (CJ). He will be remembered dearly by his sister Marie, nephew and niece Shawn and Colleen, and the countless friends and fishing buddies he has brought joy to along the years.
A celebration of Al’s life will be held from 2 – 4:30pm and 7 – 9:00pm on Tuesday, May 29 at Chapey’s Funeral Home, 200 East Main St., East Islip, NY 11730. A private cremation service will be held on Wednesday.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Al’s name can be made to the Bayard Cutting Arboretum, Natural Heritage Trust, P.O. Box 907, Great River, NY 11739.
