Obituary of Ruth Hamill

Hamill, Ruth of Southold, LI, formerly of Floral Park and Islip, LI on August 24, 2017. Ruth was a distinguished East End Artist. Beloved wife of the late Robert Charles Hamill. Devoted mother of Mary (the late Joseph) Bergmann, Ellen (John) Mueller and Ruthanne (Doug Chess) Harrison. Cherished grandmother of Elizabeth, Justin (Jami), Gabe, Noah (Ally) and Ramona. Proud great grandmother of Stephen, Robert, Rhiannon, Ava, Gretchen, Evelyn, Garrison and Lucy. Adored great great grandmother of Robbie. Ruth will be greatly missed by her loving extended family. Reposing at The Fredrick J. Chapey & Sons East Islip Funeral Home, 200 East Main Street (1/2 mile west of the S.S. Parkway, Exit 45W). A Funeral Service will be held at the Funeral Home on Tuesday at 12:30 PM. Interment to follow at Long Island National Cemetery, Pinelawn, LI. In lieu of flowers Ruth’s family suggests donations be made in her loving memory to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105. Visiting Monday 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM and 7:00 PM until 9:00 PM and Tuesday 11:30 AM until 12:30 PM.
