Obituary of Reverend Everett T. Brown, S.M.M.

BROWN - Rev. Everett T., S.M.M., died December 5, 2017 at Maria Regina Residence, Brentwood, NY. Born in Central Falls, RI, he was the son of the late Thomas and Marguerite Brown. A member of the Montfort Missionaries Community, he was 89 years old, a Montfort Missionary for 62 years, and 56 years a priest. "Brownie" first served in the United States Air Force from 1947-53, as a weather observer and then a fighter pilot. He professed vows in 1955 and was ordained Feb. 25, 1961. He was a missionary from 1962-67 to primitive parts of Indonesia. At the age of 45 he went to rural Chontales, Nicaragua for 32 years. In 2006 Fr. Brown moved to the Montfort Retreat Center in Bay Shore, NY where he became dedicated to the Legion of Mary in the Diocese and served as chaplain at Southside Hospital. Predeceased by his parents and by his sister, Marie Bachini and brother, Leonard Brown; survived by his sister-in-law Jean Brown of Virginia and his brother-in-law, Ralph of Jacksonville, FL, and by his other family members. Visitation Monday, December 11th from 3:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Montfort Center, 26 S. Saxon Ave., Bay Shore, NY. Funeral Mass at Montfort Center, Tuesday, December 12th at 11:30 AM. Interment to follow at St. Patrick's Cemetery, Bay Shore, NY. In lieu of flowers please send donations to the Montfort Missionaries, 26 S. Saxon Ave., Bay Shore, NY 11706.
